FATHER "JOE"ROSSI HOMILY........UP AND OUT OF THE COMFORT ZONE

I was at St. Pius in Lynn,Ma. this afternoon (you can usually find me at the Sat. 4:00pm Mass).......and Father Joe in his talk today told of how he returned to the Rectory last Thursday evening (One of the coldest of the winter) got comfortable in his recliner along with the heat, blanket, a"diet coke" and his TV ........He was thinking how "lucky" he was........and while "remoting" his way through the channels came upon a female Christian Minister being interviewed about her trip the next day to Haiti to assist in the relief effort......He related that he was both impressed and............ also challenged by her............

The challenge to him was that he was sitting in a warm room with the "comforts" of home whereas their are so many people around the world in places like Haiti and our own town of Lynn who are homeless and in many cases without a"roof over their head"that could use his help.........He realized at that moment he had to stretch out and reach from his "comfort zone" to do more for others as the aforementioned Minister ..........

A great thought for all of us to contemplate...............not just Father Rossi......

The time to act is always there, however" living life" gets in the way......if you let it..........
