JOHN TIERNEY.......AND GOVERNOR'S RACE.....

I have read the news accounts relative to John Tierney and his embattled Wife.I do not know her degree of involvement with her Brother,however it is my opinion that it is not relevant to the issue at hand.......

The candidate is the Congressman and his liberal voting record and stance on Israel .......You decide.......

Concerning the Governor's race John Nestor of Nanepashemet blog fame echo's my thought on Tim Cahill.........What did his former campaign workers do different than Cahill himself......They all realized that they couldn't win so they abandoned "ship".......Cahill "the Democratic Party"....and them the "alleged Independent Campaign ".........My thought....move on and decide........

Look at the real issues......and candidates........Patrick  or Baker......oh.... I almost forgot Jill........

MCGEE VS DENT.................

The Governor's Race is in full swing with all the gambling posturing of the candidates and whether the Legislature is the "scapegoat" or the "hero.........It appears that the longer it goes on the more muddled the matter becomes.....I still am of the opinion that the failure of leadership at the "top "has created this latest "fiasco "......That aside lets focus on another race.

The 3rd Essex & Middlesex Senator is Tom McGee and under normal circumstances you would consider him a "shoo in" as his prior reelection numbers attest.............

He is well liked, personal and the incumbent.........however is that incumbency a "friend or foe ".He has voted with the House Leadership on many bills and it past years and it has not hurt him....

however what is in the mind of the electorate ?......I am sure that Tom is concerned and the "word on the street " is that he is working the "door to door " meet and greet.........

His opponent, Christopher Dent, a Nahant Resident, graduated from Syracuse University , joined the US Marine Corp, served in Iraq in 2006 and presently is unable to go "door to door "

since he is with his Marine Corp Reserve Unit in Monzambigue training Africans about Intelligence techniques. He is due to be discharged in November......He certainly hopes the voters support the troops..........

He will be back soon and I assume that the two candidates will have debates.......The fact that the challenger is still in the military and is conservative.... certainly makes this a political race to follow..........

No prediction from "Thought's " on this one.........!

CHARLIE BAKER......SOUNDS GOOD FOR LYNN.......

I attended a fund raiser earlier this evening for Charlie Baker at the Volunteer Yacht Club in Lynn and I must admit that I am now "rooting" for him. I hope he is the person he says he" is".........I like his delivery and the issues that are his priorities..........but before that discussion......I was not sure who I WOULD SEE AT THIS EVENT.......but it turned out that I I knew almost every person in the room......and trust me the "tide may truly be shifting "............The anti -incumbency feeling was alive even from some of the long time supporters of these very incumbents.......Oh boy.......

Now back to Charlie.........

One of his key strategies relative to the budget is to make decisions and then cut cost and contain other costs.The first major decision will be to leave untouched "Aid to the cities and towns "He said that is the "playing field"and he will go forward from there.......That is great news for Lynn and all the other 364 cities and towns that cannot survive without State Aid.....I am sure he formulated that idea from his years as a Swampscott Selectman.

I assume the cuts will come from the State, and I am comfortable that his experience as an executive at Harvard Pilgrim Health will allow him to administer the cuts in an orderly,compassionate, and common sense manner....It will not be easy or without criticism.......however the other candidates both Constitutional Officers have had their chance

and led us to nowhere..........Are they afraid to look at their friends and supporters of the past and tell them that the "gravy train "has to make its last stop........

He was very critical of the Patrick Administration for applying and accepting the "Common Core" Federal monies which will in effect "dumb down " the MCAS Testing which is highly regarded and calls for accountability of the teachers and students.....It is not perfect I know......but I am against changing the entire program.....I am worried when the teacher unions are silent.....If my memory is correct...They were against MCAS when originally proposed............

Oh well.....now you know where I stand.......at least Patrick and Cahill will save some money on stamps.....after they read " Thought's.......

DEVAL PATRICK....RHETORICAL FLOURISH...

So President Obama's long time "buddy" Patrick........says that the opposition to the White House plans for us is bordering on sedition..........He said this while speaking about partisan politics........I guess the "Gov" forgot about the First Amendment Right classes that he took at Harvard.........

I think he later "back tracked ".......and said it was a "rhetorical flourish " which in street language probably means I made a mistake......Hope so,because his initial remark was foolish.

Don't get me wrong.......... John Tierney is a "good guy " and if you call him or his Office he will do what he can.........however the problem with him and the rest of our Congressional Group is that they follow the lead of "California Surfer Girl "Pelosi and the President........I get it "get along to keep getting along".........It is the easy way out since everyone else is doing it......and it leads to "bigger and better things "............

So what's my problem ?............I am offended by the entire process about the Health Bill which involved "horse trading"and secrecy concerning the actual content of the bill,along with the arrogant opinion that Washington "knows what's best for us"..........Congressman Tierney went along with the "crowd".......and now is complaining that people are or were being "rude "........now He, Kerry, and Markey are running around telling us why the Plan is good for us.

Why didn't they do that before instead of hiding in their "Washington Bunkers "until the deal was done......The process "stinks"..........

DEVAL PATRICK.....MAN OF CONVICTION......

I heard of the $5.00 fee to talk or call a Registry employee.....and I thought the way it was implemented was unique.......They did not tell you of the increase but rather that you could save $5.00 by doing your business online.........ok .....not an untruth but certainly "sneaky".......did they really believe that nobody would notice.......

It seems that the only person's that would pay the five dollars would be people without a computer...........the poor and the elderly...........

Now the "heat"gets turned up on the radio waves and newspapers and what does Governor Patrick do..............He rescinds it.........I have not read his reasons,but is he blaming somebody in his administration, taking the blame himself, or just admitting it was a bad idea......Whatever... it shows a lack of administrative control and conviction concerning his plan to get out of this mess......

Deval Patrick's lack of experience in this late period of his term is extraordinary.The economy has not helped him, but as stated by Charlie Baker the focus should be on "reform not revenue"

The next Governor has to be a leader with conviction and the ability to lead........

ANTHONY GALlUCCIO........FAVORITISM OR NOT.....

Friends and Family of former Senator Galluccio held a fund raiser in order to raise legal funds to overturn a decision of the Judge that revoked his probation and home arrest after it was determined that he may have brushed his teeth with a paste that had some form of alcohol ...........

I do not see anything wrong with that on two counts; People can spend their "hard earned cash" anyway they wish, and if the "tooth paste" had no banned substance then he should go back to "house arrest"..............

So why am I even bringing this up ?

Ex Senator Galluccio has had a "sketchy" driving record and it appears that he was taken home by the police the night before his "hit and run" incident...........

If the "average Joe" did what he was alleged to have done would he have been driven home or given "House Arrest" for the subsequent offense........and had the opportunity to have his tooth paste of choice.......I somehow do not think so.........

the Defense is now arguing that he pleaded guilty and owed up to his crime..........MAYBE HE DID.......MAYBE HE DIDN'T..............

Did political power or favoritism give him a "sweet heart" deal to start off with ?

THERESE MURRAY.......TRUST US !!!.......OH...YEH

I am not sure Senate President Therese Murray gets it..........She was saying that she wants the Senate to be "trusted" and do not let the actions of Wilkerson,Marzilli, and Galluccio who are in trouble with the law........... influence our thought.

In my opinion the matter of trust is to the Democratic Machine in total and not individual members.The "balance of power" is out "whack"and has been for some time.......The "powers to be" have "unfettered" control and have done as they pleased for many years.......Last weeks' election has them scrambling, and they are trying to maintain business as usual........Take any major issue and the leadership has basically done whatever it wished.........They have the answers and "we just do not know"........

I hope the Massachusetts electorate stays awake.........and stops the "insanity"......

MASSACHUSETTS....HOW MUCH DID YOUR VOTE COUNT......

If you have had the chance to watch TV news today.........It appears everyone in Washington is trying to "morph" into a Scott Brown..........The President stopped talking about his legacy health bill and said if big bankers want a "fight" he will give it to them......He has slipped back into his "populist"stance and wants us to know he is on our side just like Scotty.......

Nancy Pelosi(right) admitted that she has not got the votes for the Health Bill along with Harry Reid who has done the math and they have to go back to the "drawing board"......How ironical that the former Kennedy seat has derailed the Democratic Obama "Machine"..........

Now watch our Mass.Congressional Delegation" slinking" around and starting to sound just like Senator- elect Brown...........Do not be fooled......They are all "pro's".......protecting their self interest......Remember "Before Brown " BB...........They were "the sheep" prancing down the primrose path.......assuming we would follow........They will be laying blame ever where except in their own lap.......

ELECTION DAY.......DO YOUR DUTY.......VOTE

By the way; I just saw John Kerry voting and being interviewed.......Where has he been the last few weeks ? Maybe a special envoy to a "ski resort" ? I do not know.....just guessing......

PATRICK KENNEDY......AND HIS FRIEND MARCIA COAKLEY

Every time Patrick Kennedy (D) comes out of his "bunker" he says things that make you wonder what planet he came from........I did not see him in the Avatar movie .......I know that.........

What did he say yesterday ?......Well, he was at the Obama Rally for Martha Coakley and of course the key issue of the day was "bash"Bush and Cheney........He was doing as directed and he said the way to straighten out the mess is to elect "MARCIA" Coakley........He repeated Marcia's name a number of times during his discourse.........You would think he would know her name since she was running for the seat while his Father was still alive........

His supporters will be able to breathe easier soon since Patrick can "hunker down" after Tuesday..........

One thing is for certain.........Election Day will give us "What we deserve".......again.......

YOU CAN'T MAKE THIS STUFF UP......../

Martha Coakley is making "misstatements" ........and leaving a trail behind her.......Is this something new ? or does she do it all the time, and are we are now seeing the true Martha due to the "shining limelight" of this election or what............i.e.

Martha's opinion and thoughts of the last few days;

If you are a practicing Catholic you "should not work in an emergency room of a hospital."......This is her response to the Mass. Law that allows Doctors and Nurses to not administer the "morning after pill" on the basis of a religious conviction.........while working in a Catholic Hospital.....A woman is free to go to other facilities.......On the other hand her spokesman stated that she "supports"that exemption.......I am not even going to get into her support of "partial birth abortion"............which is abhorrent to me.....

There are no terrorists in Afghanistan.......Tell that to the CIA and military that have suffered casualties in the last couple of weeks............

Curt Schilling of "bloody sock" fame is a NY YANKEE FAN.........She brought this up on her own.....It was not in a response to a question...........

Oh well........

MEET MRS. SCOTT BROWN AND......CAN GOLIATH GO DOWN...

If you are a "political junkie" this Brown v Coakley race is the best in a long time........You have Scotty who was a huge underdog lagging behind by 30 points a few weeks ago.........and then it was 9 points and two days ago 2 points........ Scotty raised 1.3 mil in 24 hours from 16,000 donors.........

I had an observer at a small North Shore town hall report that that they had approximately 300 people voted absentee this week alone.I guess this is becoming common around the Commonwealth according to various sources .........due to a weather forecast saying Tuesday may be a "storm day"..........Could we have an upset ........or will it be business as usual...........

Martha's negative campaign has gone to "full speed ahead" after her dismal showing at the debate, and she has the President making a You Tube video on her behalf. He is doing this in spite of the fact that he has sent more troops to Afghanistan that Martha says doesn't have any terrorists.........I guess they can iron that out later.......maybe by consulting LT. COL. Scott Brown............I thought you might like the family picture since Channel 5 that employs Mrs. Scott Brown evidently has told her to stay out of the limelight.......if she likes her job.....

The stakes are high and the previous lackluster election to fill the " Kennedy Seat " has taken on a National perspective that may bring back the thought that the Senate Seat is truly the "people's seat"...........Could Goliath really go down ?

WOW.....THE CAMPAIGN IS GETTING LIKE "JERSEY SHORE" SCUFFLES..

The Herald is reporting that a scuffle occurred last night when a fund raiser was held for Martha Coakley in Washington ,D. C.. It appears that a reporter was involved in an altercation.....I do not know all the facts surrounding the incident........however I am more interested in the questions he asked Candidate Coakley prior to the incident...... which she did not answer........

Question 1........Do you stand by your statement at the debate that their are no terrorists in Afghanistan , and they have gone to Yemen and Pakistan ?

Question 2..........Why are health care industry lobbyists supporting your fundraiser ?

Are those "cheap shot questions" ?

One more question.......Will she be responding to Ayla and Adrianna Brown over the "morning after pill" amendment supported by their Father and their concerns about the Coakley Abortion Ad ?

IT'S THE PEOPLE'S SEAT NOT KENNEDY'S SEAT.......DRUDGE REPORT...

The Popular website "The Drudge Report" is headlining Scott Brown (R) this morning and asking the question is this man the person that can end the "Dems" Super Majority......and that the election is becoming a proxy on the health bill and big goverment.......They may be getting carried away.......after all Massachusetts is Massachusetts............

My report last night was of the opinion that he won the debate on the issues.......however it does not guarantee a victory in this "land of the liberals ".........

The time between now and Tuesday evening will be interesting...........

A politician says the President is to "light skinned and only speaks with a Negro dialect when he wants"........ Senator Harry Reid (D) , Majority Leader, coined these words and their is no "outcry" from the democrats.......

If a Republican said it.........Harry Reid would be calling for a resignation and an investigation of who his/her friends are.....so they could be implicated also.........

Washington is a strange town.......... partisanship or citizenship ?

PARTISANSHIP........CITIZENSHIP.....

President Obama in a conference on National Security yesterday stated that it is a time not for

"partisanship but rather citizenship"........that is a great line.....and if we could return to that mind set.....It would bring back a little of what "America has been in the past "........United we stand,Divided we fall"......I am ready for it.........but guess what ?........I doubt it.

When Congresswoman Nicky Tsongas(D) was in a special election she was certified to serve two days following her win so she could vote on some legislation that the "Dems" wanted passed.

Now.......the President wants the Health Bill prior to the State of the Union Address.......The one event that could hinder this plan is if one Democrat Senator was replaced with a Republican Senator..........impossible......not so if Scott Brown (R) replaced Paul Kirk (D) by defeating Martha Coakley on Jan 19,2010.........but not to worry you Health plan advocates.....

The Democratic " partisan "Machine will not certify Scott Brown until the health vote is a "done deal"........don't believe me........

Secretary of State Galvin and Senator Paul Kirk have both said that Brown will not be certified until after the State of the Union address...........so much for this bipartisan/citizen thing.....and doing the will of the electorate.....

It may be wishful thinking.......but I have a feeling that Scott might "pull an upset"........and then we can watch this next power play.....

COAKLEY........BROWN........THAT'S NO HUFF AND PUFFING...

It is now official........The new US SENATOR from Massachusetts is going to be either Martha Coakley (D) or Scott Brown ( R).........Mega Money was spent by the candidates to get us to this point..........Steve Pagliuca especially since he spent his own money to get 12% of the vote on the Democratic side........Just think of all the good that "moo la " could have done.......Probably a little unfair since he seems like a "good guy " and more than likely donates his fair share.......

Concerning Scott Brown........Did you notice when he was making his acceptance speech he had his "American Idol" and BC basketball Player Daughter on stage with him ..........and no Wife.......

It appears that Wife , Gail Huff is unable to make public appearances with him due to a restriction imposed by her employer, Channel 5 TV News.......She has been a free lance reporter for the Station since 1993............I am sure we will hear something about that down the road along with the "rekindling " of the Magazine Cover of Brown in the " near buff " from his "modeling days "..........

SATURDAY NIGHT.......LIVE......HEALTH BILL....SICKNESS

A procedural vote had to be taken to allow debate on Sen. Harry Reid's Health Bill in the Senate.60 VOTES WERE NEEDED...............The vote was 60 -39 and accordingly Debate on the bill will press forward.......I am sure we will discuss the merits at a later date......

The 60 votes were not a given and one of the Senators on the "fence" was Mary Landrieu of Louisiana..............included in the bill was a provision for Medicaid subsidies ..........that was specific in that it would apply to States that.......had two criteria........

1. had been declared a major disaster area..........

2.had been declared " so" for the preceding seven years.....

Can you guess the answer as to which States qualified.......... "drumroll please".........

LOUISIANA...........COST...........100 MILLON " BUCKAROO'S ".....Oh...Senator Landrieu voted yes........

Everyone involved says" one has nothing to do with the other " OK WHAT EVER YOU SAY ....

PAUL KIRK.......UNKNOWN........US SENATOR ?

Paul Kirk is unknown to the general voting public,but he is well known to the insiders in the Democratic Party both in Massachusetts and Washington.The word is that the "power brokers" are having "second thoughts" about Mikey Dukakis (the old stories and memories are even hard for them to swallow).Paul Kirk's name is now prominent...........and even though this passage of the successor law is dirty politics at its best......Paul Kirk is a good choice if it has to happen......

I have known the Kirk family since the 1970's and his Brother Ed and I were Asst. Attorney General's together for a couple of years.Their Father was a Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Court.

Paul Kirk has been a confidante of "Ted" Kennedy and former Chairman of the National Democratic Party.....He is a a very competent person and for a short period we will have a Representative who will work hard and be prepared.......that's the good news......the bad news is that he is still part of the Democratic machine.......Oh....well....."ANYWHERE IS A BETTER PLACE..............
