SATURDAY NIGHT.......LIVE......HEALTH BILL....SICKNESS

A procedural vote had to be taken to allow debate on Sen. Harry Reid's Health Bill in the Senate.60 VOTES WERE NEEDED...............The vote was 60 -39 and accordingly Debate on the bill will press forward.......I am sure we will discuss the merits at a later date......

The 60 votes were not a given and one of the Senators on the "fence" was Mary Landrieu of Louisiana..............included in the bill was a provision for Medicaid subsidies ..........that was specific in that it would apply to States that.......had two criteria........

1. had been declared a major disaster area..........

2.had been declared " so" for the preceding seven years.....

Can you guess the answer as to which States qualified.......... "drumroll please".........

LOUISIANA...........COST...........100 MILLON " BUCKAROO'S ".....Oh...Senator Landrieu voted yes........

Everyone involved says" one has nothing to do with the other " OK WHAT EVER YOU SAY ....
Another night in Washington.........

  1. We are all set now. Lower cost for healthcare with no impact on service levels and care. Ladies no longer have to worry about self exams and mammograms. Jackpot...! My intelligence has been insulted enough in the last 11 months to last a lifetime...Mr. President... why don't you go out an have a cigarette.

  2. I saw a sign on the news that said it all- "You think healthcare is expensive now? Wait until it's free" Personally, I truly believe in helping those that need help. However, I resent helping those who don't help themselves. Through a very difficult time I had to go to work, instead of being by my husband's side, because he needed the insurance. Handouts need to stop somewhwere. At what point do people start being responsible for themselves. Where's the old fashioned work ethic?
