FRIENDS.........

As the summer winds down........."Sweet Lou" had us as guests to Salem Country Club to " meet and greet" his close friends before they all turn into " snowbirds" and fly off to climates that the rest of us dream about..........That's why their all so happy in the following pictures.......The lady revelers to the right are Penny Karahalis of Peabody along with Carol Essember of Salem and Lisa who will be a part time " snowbird "

The guys include Doctor Larry Essember and Doctor Frank Chow of Colorado with "Sweet Lou".......The smiles say it all........have fun this winter....and do not call me and say...."I can't hear you the AC sound is too high" It is an old joke and is personally aggravating........

POSITIVE........NEGATIVE

I am sure that most of you know that the secret to a happy life is the positive attitiude

in spite of the " little roadblocks " that life may throw our way now and then.........

Many times I do things to help people maintain this" positivity" and sometimes I have been given a " thanks" ......but in most cases life just goes on......

My friend,Jay Nestor(with his beautiful wife,Joanne),however pushed a new " wrinkle " in my face this morning......take a look at HIS BLOG THIS MORNING.......NANEPASHEMET (LINK IS ON THIS SITE)

I used the word "Crusher"......to name the PFANTASY PFOTBALL TEAM that is directed by "Sweet" Lou Panakio and myself, and he is all in a "dither"

I told him it was a form of flattery to him and I am not taking it back no matter what he says....

I will continue to throw the flattery at him.....since he is a much better person when he is positive and not that "Mountain Man" persona....

In the holiday spirit I thought it fitting that We see

get into an argument over that decision.

and have maintained their bond of friendship

in spite of geographical,family,and business distractions

"DICKY" GARDNER .....A HERO AMONG US!!!!!

"Dicky" (second on the left) with his Wife,Brother,and Mother was the guest of honor at the Knights of Columbus on Friday night.It was a tremendous outpouring for him by the people of Lynn for the guy that has always been there for them when in need.

This reminded me of the saying that "Lynn is like a village".The hall was packed and all the goodwill of the village was aimed directly at the honoree.....

Hold him in your prayers and help him keep up the great fight..............

FRIENDS FOREVER...................

Lou Panakio returned this week from a winter in Naples and this being his first Memorial Day Weekend since the passing of the love of his life,his Wife,Marcia, he asked Dave Solimine,an usher at their wedding what was appropriate at the grave site before having the headstone set.

Lou and his Daughter Lisa made a trip to the site and upon arrival found Dave on his hands and knees with the flowers,water, and other necessities.This is an act of kindness and friendship that seems to be missing in our society these days.Dave is a "keeper as a friend".

IF YOU HAVE A FRIEND LIKE THIS MAKE SURE YOU DO EVERYTHING TO KEEP IT THAT WAY......................
