POT.......MEDICINE......DRUGS.....COYOTE'S

The headlines today concerning the President allowing the Federal Government to lessen the prosecution level of enforcement concerning Marijuana use for medicinal purposes does not appear to be a proper action from this position.I know all the arguments pro/con ,however it is another "slide down the slippery slope"......California has had that statute for years and from what I have heard......It is not that difficult to get a "Doctor's Note".....Remember the old school days when you needed a "sick day".......
That's not my issue however................

I have been to CIUDAD JUAREZ,Mexico in the recent past to build homes for young Mexican Families who were promised by so-called "COYOTE'S" who for a fee brought them to Juarez with the promise they would get them into the USA.The reality is that they were abandoned with no money and living in large "cardboard"boxes........surrounded by "Drug Cartel" activity and violence......These are young parents and children....Once you see the face...you think different....Everyone is just trying to "make it".....

CIUDAD JUAREZ is considered Mexico's murder capital and the Prosecutors are fearful of their own lives and the New York Times has called it a "War without Borders".President Felipe Calderon points to the arrest of 50,00 people on drug charges since 2006.The violence is "out of control"

SO WHAT HAS THAT GOT TO DO WITH US ???

My thought is that we in the "GOOD OLD USA "help promote this scenario since it is our "demand"for the Cartel's products that makes it so lucrative and makes murder and mayhem an everyday occurrence.......so what's a little drug or " pot"..........

  1. The little drug or 'pot' is worth 14 billion dollars a year. How do you fight a billion dollar war? Answer: with a billion dollars. We buy it, then we spend as much fighting it...money over mankind...we can't win...

  2. We must not grow weary in fighting for good causes. You are right Harvey in that users are contributing towards these problems. Easing up on any kind of drug enforcement will not work towards a solution, it will only make it worse. Thank you for your charitable work with the families that are truly destitute and need help just to get up to American poverty level. My son and I have visited Juarez and built one of the many homes donated to Mexican families, our efforts through Casas Por Cristo. During our stay in Juarez we walked by an orphanage, Rivers of Mercy Children's Home(http://riverofmercy.org) that is run by a young couple from the States, Kristin & Joel. Amazing the good work a few people can accomplish!
