Pope Benedict in Africa had this to say "AIDS cannot be overcome by the distribution of condoms".Bonnie Erbe of Scripps News called the Pope's statement "a horrifically ignorant statement"....Is she right ? Young girls are sold and/or "betrothed to older men who have had many lovers.These men will not wear condoms for the most part.Will the distribution of condoms or anti viral foam to the girls solve the problem of AIDS ?
Is the Pope's opinion that the source of the ravages of AIDS must be eradicated by a change of the "human heart" and a spiritual awakening to respect for all of human life really ignorant? Or should the world just try to treat the problem with condoms in these AIDS infested Countries ?
