To let you know how committed I am to the readers of this blog; I ran for  an hour and twenty minutes to get to the Center of Salem this morning to give you a look at the "Happenings in Witch City"The trio
of Goblins"were tourists in town for the festivities....and the witch and "Jackie Kennedy" are two of my Grand children from Friday night (Tegan & Maeve).....I am probably dating myself, Maeve probably doesn't know who "Jackie "is......I am not going to guess who she is portraying.....

This morning a couple hundred people were walking in the City.....I cannot imagine how many people were present last night or what it will be like the rest of this Halloween Day......

The  parking cost signs all were consistent.....$ 20.00

JOHN KERRY...KNOW NOTHINGISM.....

John Kerry.....It is obvious that he is not worrying about election day......if he was he would be paying professional writers to hide his arrogance and entitlement attitude......Everyone who disagrees with him is the reason for the problems effecting our Country......He said the Republicans, Beck and Limbaugh have created a "period of know nothingism "..... Wait..........are we the ones who have the nothingism.? .....

I guess he is saying that I am like the rest of the electorate that doesn't "buy his act"....... and I am full of nothing or whatever......

If nothing equates to stupid he assumes I will have forgotten this by the time he is in the election cycle.......I am going to try and remember it.........

CRIMINAL TRIAL.....BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT

The high profile trial of a Boston City Councilor goes to the jury today for deliberation......I have always said that if you are not at the trial and observe the word delivery, body language, and actual ebb and flow of the entire procedure then you really can't predict the end result.....in fact even if you are there......Juries are unpredictable.........

However this case has me bewildered......The Government says that the Councilor took a $ 1,000. bribe and they show you a video and still pictures of the meeting with an informant and the exchange of something from one hand to another.......

OK, The Defendant against the advise of Counsel (I guess ) takes the stand and says he has to because he has to tell the truth.....His truth is that he does not remember the meeting....and therefore he is innocent....
He is confronted with the video,and he still does not remember.....

Now, We move to the closing argument of Defense Counsel, and he tells the Jury that the money transferred was only $200.00....and the informant made off with the other $ 800.00......Oh boy.....

How does the lawyer know....and his client doesn't......So many questions......

This is one weird defense........well we will know if it worked.....soon

CHARLIE BAKER.....EXCITEMENT GALORE.....IN SWAMPSCOTT

I was walking toward the Anthony's Hawthorne Restaurant in Swampscott........when I heard and actually felt the excitement in the air........I was aware that Baker was having a time this evening, but I was "blown away " by the activity......The parking lot was "jammed".......and it was an hour before the start of the event.

This is the the largest event I have seen for a non incumbent on the North Shore in years..............

I read the polling information that indicates that Republicans are more excited than the Democrats......and it certainly seems to be the case.........

In contrast I observed the Democrats going to their organizational meeting  at the Porthole Pub in Lynn Sunday morning and it was subdued ( business like ? ).......maybe they went crazy inside....I do not know.......

The polls say it's close between Charlie and Deval......however.... is  Swampscott a manifestation of change that started with the Scott Brown......

We will know soon......

MASSACHUSETTS GOVERNOR'S DEBATE.....A COUPLE OF THOUGHTS

I believe that in a  Governor's Debate that the moderator should be local and not a "National Reporter " such as Charlie Gibson.......He appeared to be prepared for the "hot button" issues,however I had the feeling that he really did not know the candidates in the way we have come to know them by being present all the time and hearing our friends,family, acquaintances and others giving varying opinions .......and in general living the issues being debated.......here in Massachusetts....

The format itself was disorganized and for the most part candidates were unable to finish their thoughts.....along with a lack of continuity in discussion......It was not the way to conduct a debate during the last week before the election when people are now "paying attention"..........

GEORGE BUSH....I LIKE HIM....NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY....

In my mind George Bush is a great patriot, and beyond that I appreciate his sense of humor.He spoke in
Chicago as a fore runner to the release of his book "Decision Points ". He said that he acknowledges that some people will be "shocked "that he wrote a book since they did not believe he could read.......

He further related that he will not be remembered as Shakespeare but he hoped he would be remembered for his being a person who set priorities and stood firm on those priorities........

I am of the opinion that history will treat him kindly.......when it comes to his leadership in post 9/11 and that he kept the Nation safe from further harm during that time.

Concerning the "American Way " of politics he told the story of walking his dog two weeks after leaving the Presidency with a plastic bag in his hand while as President there was a person following him with the plastic bag in his hand........

MASS TEACHERS ASSOCIATION HIERACHY .......SHAME ON YOU...

I have voiced my support for Charlie Baker in the Governor's Race.....but that is not the reason for my present thought......The" Ad 'paid and sponsored by the MTA which is derogatory to Baker derides success
and leaves the impression that all people that have money are the problem and are using the poor as their "pawns ".
I realize that their are persons at all levels of our society who do not work within the rules....but that should not be a reason to make success look bad.....and give young persons thoughts that would "dim"their dreams of the future .......

The" AD " is meant to show that the personal success of Charlie Baker has somehow left the Public School System
without books,good facilities and more money for teacher salaries......

I believe in the Public School Teachers and I know that the great majority spend every day helping students   seize their potential and  realizing that the can make something of themselves.....

Making "ridicule of success "is not the way to guide our future and the "brain trust " of the teacher's union should know better.........

It  has become fashionable in this election process to attack persons for making money.....I guess this happens when you start to switch from a capitalist to socialistic economic system.....
